Improvement Made To Wiring Group For Reduction In 793B Engine Removal And Installation Assembly Time{1408}

Usage:

793B (1HL) Off-Highway Trucks

Description of Change: Wiring group now connects on roll over protection system (ROPS) tube to improve engine removal and installation time.

Adaptable To: The 115-6478 Wiring Group (not serviced) is effective with 793B (1HL195-Up). The wiring group is adaptable to all previous 793B (1HL1-194) by using the following procedure.

Procedure To Re-Work Wiring Group

NOTE: Turn off and lockout disconnect switch before beginning procedure.

1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable lead from the batteries in the right platform battery compartment.

2. Disconnect the positive (+) battery cable lead from the batteries in the right platform battery compartment.

3. Disconnect existing 118-8486 Harness Assembly (payload monitor) (1) from the 118-5266 Harness Assembly (main).

4. Disconnect existing 118-5266 Harness Assembly (main) from left side of cab bulkhead and remove from chassis.

NOTE: This harness connects to the batteries, ether aid relay and solenoid, right engine work lamps, and connects to 118-8486 Harness Assembly (payload monitor) (1).

5. Connect 115-7504 Harness Assembly (4) at the cab bulkhead and reattach harness to chassis with existing "P" clips. [The harness should end at the farthest right side boss of the roll over protection system (ROPS) tube].

NOTE: This harness connects to the ether aid relay and solenoid, right engine work lamps, and connects to 118-8486 Harness Assembly (payload monitor) (1).

6. Connect 117-7129 Cable Assembly (2) to the negative (-) post of the battery and re-attach to chassis in same position using existing clips.

7. Connect 118-5483 Cable Assembly (3) to the positive (+) post of the battery and re-attach to chassis in same position using existing clips.

8. Connect the other end of 118-5483 Cable Assembly (3) to the end of 115-7504 Harness Assembly (4) at the clip assembly under the roll over protection system (ROPS) tube and secure.

9. Reconnect the 118-8486 Harness Assembly (payload monitor) (1).

10. Check that all connections are secure and properly fastened to the chassis.
