Description of Change: The position for the shaft seals has changed and a new seal cavity plug replaces the former plug.

NOTICE

Only use seals for machine models and pump groups listed in this article.

NOTE: This change does not apply to machines having water glycol systems.

See reference article (May 20, 1996) above for the recommended procedure for the following changes.

* Two 139-3213 Seals-Lip-Type (replacing two former 6V-1899 Seals-Lip-Type) are installed with spring loaded sides opposite each other.
* The 008-3214 Ring-Retaining is installed between the 139-3213 Seals-Lip-Type.

NOTE: The opening of the retaining ring must be over the drain hole of the seal cavity.

NOTE: A new 139-3272 Seal Kit replaces former 9J-4729 and 105-3204 Seal Kits for 6E-2046 Pump Group.

* A new porous 6E-2943 Plug (bronze) replaces the former 3G-7242 Plug (rubber) in the seal cavity drain hole (weep hole).

(A) 4T-4944 Pump Group. (B) 6E-2046 Pump Group. (1) New 6E-2943 Plug. (2) 008-3214 Ring-Retaining. (3) 139-3213 Seals-Lip-Type.

NOTE: The new bronze plug provides early detection of oil leaks if either shaft seal should leak. (The new bronze 6E-2943 Plug is included with the new 139-3272 Seal Kit for 6E-2046 Pump Group).

Adaptable To: This change is adaptable to 4T-4944 and 6E-2046 Pump Groups for all models above.
