Usage:
D350E (9LR),
D400D (8TF),
D400E (2YR) Articulated Trucks
Description of Change: Improvements have been made to prevent alternator terminal breakage in the operation of articulated trucks. A plate has been added at the rear of the alternator inorder to provide an improved clamping location for the ground cable. And the routing of the ground cable has been moved from the engine to the alternator mount.
Adaptable To: The improvements are effective with D350E (9LR352) and D400E (2YR562) Articulated Trucks. The improvements are adaptable to earlier machines, as well as D400D (8TF) Articulated Trucks. Refer to the chart and illustration for the required parts.
NOTE: When changing the routing of the 116-9671 Wire Assembly (ground cable), there may be interference with a fuel hose. If there is interference, it can be eliminated by adding an 069-4447 Spacer, an 8T-2501 Bolt, and an 8T-4896 Washer at the existing clip.
