Cylinder Rod For Suspension Cylinder Groups Has Larger Diameter Bolts For Piston Retention{7201}

Usage:

772 (10S, 11S, 80S) 772B (64W),
773 (63G) 773B (63W) 775B (7XJ) Trucks

Description of Change: A cylinder rod assembly using 12.7 mm (.50 in) diameter bolts and washers, retaining the piston, has replaced the former rod assembly using smaller 11.1 mm (.44 in) diameter bolts or studs.

Adaptable To: The 6E-1972 Rod Assembly replaces the 7J-3470 Rod Assembly (canceled). The 6E-1972 Rod Assembly requires ten 5J-5793 Bolts-12 Point Hard and ten 3V-3306 Washers-Hard.

The 6E-1972 Rod Assembly, 5J-5793 Bolts-12 Point, and 3V-3306 Washers-Hard are adaptable to 7J-3480 (Eng. Chgs. 00-Up), 9J-2016 (Eng. Chgs. 00-Up), and 1U-4777 (Eng. Chgs. 00-13) Suspension Cylinder Groups.

NOTE: The cylinder group part number, (Eng. Chg.) engineering change number, and date of manufacture are found on the cylinder group tag.

NOTE: Bolt holes, in earlier pistons, must be enlarged to give clearance for the larger bolts used with the 6E-1972 Rod Assembly. See Illustration 2.
