Special Instruction SEHS9931, "Sound Reduction For C Series Challenger Agricultural Tractors" is available through normal literature channels.
Tractors that exhibit high sound levels can now be improved with the installation of a quieter muffler and additional insulation placed under the hood and inside the cab. The additional insulation for the cab includes: the right access panel, the area above the right access panel, the rear of the cab, and under the dash cover. The Special Instruction provides dealers and customers the component requirements and procedures for installation. Installation of all improvements will reduce cab sound levels to approximately 77 dBa.
