Usage:
1. Drain the oil from the torque converter and the hydraulic tank.

2. Disconnect hoses (1), (2), (3), (5), (6) and supply tube (7) from torque converter and brake pump (4).
3. Torque converter and brake pump (4) weighs 50 kg (110 lb).Fasten a hoist to the pump.
4. Remove the bolts and torque converter and brake pump (4) from the torque converter. Remove the gasket from the pump.
NOTE: The following steps are for the installation of the torque converter and brake pump.
5. Put the gasket and torque converter and brake pump (4) in position, and install the bolts that hold them.
NOTE: Hose (1) is from the torque converter filter. Hose (2) is from the hydraulic tank. Hose (3) is from the brake filter. Hose (5) is from the hoist diverter valve. Hose (6) is from the hydraulic tank.
6. Connect hoses (1), (2), (3), (5), and (6) to the pump as shown. Connect supply tube (7) to the pump.
7. Fill the torque converter and hydraulic tank with oil to the correct level. See the Maintenance Guide.
Disassemble Torque Converter & Brake Pump
Start By:
a. remove torque converter and brake pump
1. Remove locknut (1) and the washer that hold gear (2) on the shaft.
2. Install tooling (A) as shown. Remove gear (2) from the shaft with tooling (A).
3. Remove the key from the shaft.
4. Remove bolts (3) and cover (4).
5. Remove the O-ring seal from the cover.
6. Remove two bearings (5) from cover (4) with tool (B).
7. Remove gears (6) and (7).
8. Remove body (8) from body (9).
9. Remove the four dowels from body (8).
10. Remove the O-ring seal from body (9).
11. Remove the bolts that hold pump group (10) in position. Remove pump group (10).
12. Remove the O-ring seal from pump group (10).
13. Remove cover (11). Remove the O-ring seal from cover (11).
14. Remove two bearings (12) from cover (11) with tool (B).
15. Remove body (13) from body (9). Remove the four dowels from body (13).
16. Remove the O-ring seal from body (9).
17. Remove two gears (14) and the key.
18. Remove gear assemblies (15) and (16) for body (9).
19. Remove two bearings (17) from body (9) with tool (B).
NOTE: Pump group (10) was removed in Step 11.
20. Remove the four bolts and washers that hold pump group (10) together.
21. Remove covert assembly (19) from body assembly (25). Remove O-ring seal (23) from the cover assembly.
22. Remove two dowels (18) and two bearings (20) from the cover assembly (19).
23. Remove gears (21) and (22) from body assembly (25).
24. Remove two bearings (24) from body assembly (25).
Assemble Torque Converter & Brake Pump
NOTE: Clean all parts thoroughly, and put clean SAE 10W oil on them.
1. Install two bearings (2) in body (1) with tool (A). Install the bearings with the joint 30° ± 15° toward outlet hole (3) from the center line of the two bearings. Install the bearings to a depth of 1.50 ± 0.25 mm (.059 ± .010 in) below surface (4).
2. Check the bearing diameters. The bearing diameters must be 31.786 ± .008 mm (1.2514 ± .0003 in) after installation.
3. Put gear assemblies (5) and (6) in position in housing (1) as shown.
4. Put key (7) in position in gear assembly (5).
5. Put two gears (8) in position on the gear assemblies.
6. Install four dowels (9) in body (10) until they extend 5.0 ± 0.5 mm (.02 ± .02 in) from the surface of body (10).
7. Put O-ring seal (11) and body (10) in position on body (1).
8. Install two bearings (12) in cover (13) with tool (A). Install the bearings with the joint 30° ± 15° toward outlet port (14) from the centerline of the two bearings. Install the bearings to a depth of 1.50 ± 0.25 mm (.059 ± .010 in) below surface (15).
9. Check the diameter of the bearings. The diameter of the bearings must be 31.786 ± .008 mm (1.2514 ± .0003 in) after installation.
10. Put O-ring seal (16) in position on cover (13).
11. Put cover (13) in position on body (10).
12. Install bearings (19) in cover (18). Install bearings with the joint 30° ± 15° toward the outlet side of the cover.
13. Check the diameter of the bearings. The diameter of the bearings must be 31.786 ± 0.008 mm (1.2514 ± .0003 in) after installation.
14. Install two dowels (17) in cover (18).
15. Install bearings (23) in body (24). Install the bearings with the joint 30° ± 15° toward the outlet side of the body.
16. Check the diameter of the bearings. The diameter of the bearings must be 31.786 ± 0.008 mm (1.2514 ± .0003 in) after installation.
17. Put gears (20) and (21) in position in cover (18).
18. Put O-ring seal (22) and body (24) in position on cover (18), and install the four bolts that hold them.
19. Put the pump group in position on cover (13). Make sure the two gear assemblies are engaged correctly. Install the bolts that hold the pump group to the cover.
20. Install four dowels (25) in body (26) until they extend 5.0 ± 0.5 mm (.20 ± .02 in) from the surface.
21. Put O-ring seal (27) in position on body (1).
22. Put body (26) in position on body (1).
23. Install two bearings (29) in cover (28) with tool (A). Install the bearings with the joint 30° ± 15° toward slot (30) from the centerline of the two bearings. Install the bearings until they are 1.57 mm (.062 in) below the surface shown.
24. Check the diameter of the bearings. The diameter of the bearings must be 31.786 ± 0.008 mm (1.2514 ± .0003 in) after installation.
25. Install the key that holds gear (32) in position on gear assembly (5).
26. Put gears (32) and (33) in position as shown.
27. Put O-ring seal (31) in position on cover (28). Put cover (28) in position on body (26). Install the six bolts that hold the pump together.
28. Install key (34) in gear assembly (5).
29. Put gear (35) in position on key (34) and gear assembly (5). Install the washer nand locknut that holds gear (35) in position. Tighten the locknut to a torque of 110 ± 13 N·m (80 ± 10 lb ft)
30. Lubricate the pump with SAE 10W oil. Turn the pump by hand. The pump must rotate freely by hand.

a. install torque converter and brake pump
