Introduction

The 7T9995 Nitrogen Actuator has been released to replace the 5G2960 and the 5G3015 Actuators. The new actuators are shorter with a larger outside diameter than the actuators being replaced. To actuate the system, the 7T9995 Actuator has a knob to depress.

Installing this actuator in the existing fire suppression system of the above machines will require some different parts. This publication will list the parts needed for making the conversion. It will also show the method of installation.

Regardless of the model, it is important that the actuators are installed so that the locking pin may be quickly removed and the activating knob is easily accessible. See the topic entitled Mounting the 7T9995 Valve Group.

Consult the Necessary Parts section to determine the parts necessary to install the actuators on particular models. Refer to the Contents to locate the section for installing the actuators on particular models.

Do not perform any procedure outlined in this publication, or order any parts until you read and understand the information contained within.

Mounting the 7T9995 Valve Group (All Models)

------ WARNING! ------

High pressure nitrogen is present. Injury to personnel is possible. Make sure the lock pin is installed in the cylinder.

-------WARNING!-------

Orientation of 7T8775 Lock pin in 7T9995 Valve Group

When mounting the 7T9995 Valve Group, locate 7T8775 Lock Pin (1) so it is easily removable. The actuator lockpin must be oriented 90° ± 10° to the axis of gage (2).

If any installation makes removing the lock pin difficult, even while wearing gloves, remove the actuator from the machine. Remove the lock pin and reorient it, as necessary, to improve the accessibility.

Reinstall the actuator on the machine, and recheck the access to the lock pin. After the actuator is satisfactorily mounted, connect the actuation line to the outlet port of the actuator.

Be sure that a 6T0005 Seal is in place to retain the lock pin when properly oriented and mounted. Spare seals are provided for use when the lockpin orientation must be changed.

Necessary Parts

Making the Installation

------ WARNING! ------

Accidental discharge of the agent cylinder is possible. Injury to personnel is possible. Make sure the agent cylinder is empty or has 3T9457 Plug and 3D2824 Seal in place in the outlet agent port of the cylinder before servicing the fire suppression system. Refer to the Agent Cylinder Servicing portion of SENR3234-03 Service Manual.
