Usage:
Serial Number Prefix and the Component Code Number
An index to the contents of each fiche in SIRS Index is shown in the lower right corner of the fiche. An example of this index is in Illustration 1.
Look at the index reference for 3150 Industrial Engine in Illustration 2. The 3150 Engine has a serial number prefix 97M. What looks like a machine serial number 1250 in the next column is the SMCS Component Code number for Fuel System. 1250 is not part of the machine serial number.
