New Switch For Back-Up Alarm{7406}

Usage:


D25C, D30C, D35C, D350C, D35HP, D400 Trucks

Description of Change: A new switch is used to operate the back-up alarm on the above trucks. The mounting and actuation have been changed to accommodate the new switch.

Adaptable To: The new switch and associated parts are effective as follows.

The new switch and associated parts, all used together, can be installed as a replacement for the former 6U204 switch. See chart.

Installation Procedure

1. Fabricate two bosses per Illustration 1.

2. Remove former switch and its bracket.

3. Carefully remove the cab side wall insulation, and weld the two bosses in the positions shown in Illustration 2.

4. Cut away the insulation as necessary to clear the bosses and re-install.

5. Install the new parts as shown in either Illustration 3 or 4. Use the new, short harness to connect the existing harness to the new switch.

NOTE: Some 2U2512 Brackets used on D25C, D30C, D35C, and D350C Trucks may need a small modification. It may be necessary to enlarge the mounting holes with a file to allow enough movement to adjust the new switch.

6. From a 25 mm × 25 mm × 3 mm thick angle (1.0" × 1.0" × .12" thick), cut off a piece 20 mm (.8") long.

7. Weld the angle to the gear shift lever so it operates the switch in reverse gear. See applicable illustration.
