Incompatible Coolant Pressure Sensor Identified on Certain 3512E and 3516E Engines {191W}

Introduction

The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

The coolant pressure sensors installed on engines built between June 2018to August 2018are incompatible with the engine software.

Solution

Caterpillar® is aware of this problem, but a permanent repair has not been identified. As an interim solution follow the repair instruction given below.

Replace the coolant pressure sensor and check valve. The new and former part number are listed in Table 1.
