Exhaust Elbow - Remove and Install

Usage:

G3512 E26

Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to remove/install the exhaust elbow ().

  2. Remove tube (1) and set aside.

  3. Disconnect sensor (2).

  4. Remove four bolts (3), shield (4) , and block with gasket (5).

  5. Remove four bolts (6) and bracket (7).

  6. Remove four bolts (8).

  1. Remove hose (9), tubes (10) and (11), and shielding (12).

  1. Remove shielding (14).

  2. Remove nuts (15) and exhaust bypass (13).

  3. Remove bolts (16) and plate (17).

  1. Remove 6 bolts (18) and (20).

  2. Remove four bolts (19).

  3. Remove exhaust elbow (21).

Installation Procedure

Inspect all gaskets for wear and damage. Obtain a new gasket, if necessary.

  1. Install exhaust elbow (21) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Tighten 2 diagonal nuts (15) to a torque of 25 ± 6 N·m (18 ± 4 lb ft). Tighten remaining nuts (15) to a torque of 25 ± 6 N·m (18 ± 4 lb ft). Tighten all nuts to 47 ± 9 N·m (35 ± 7lb ft).
