    NOTICE

    Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

    Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.

    Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to engine oil filter housing (10). The approximate weight of engine oil filter housing (10) 186 kg (410 lb).

  2. Position engine oil filter housing (10) and install bolts (15).

  3. Install bolts (11), bolts (13), and connect tubes (13).

  4. Use tow people to position housing (8) and tubes (9). The approximate weight of housing (8) 25 kg (55 lb).

  5. Install bolts (5), stud (6), and stud (7).

  6. Install elbow (3), bolts (4), bolts (1), and nuts (2).

End By:

  1. Install the temperature control valve.
