Information on A/D/G Coatings for Bolts, Spacers, and Washers {7000, 7553, 7553}

The purpose of this publication is to inform how to identify the fastener specification in the field. Caterpillar designed bolts, spacers, and washers must be used in the appropriate locations and tightened properly. For bolts, anti-seize compound may be required to achieve proper torque. Improper torque may result in bolt loosening. The information in Table 1 shows the specifications for three of the most common types of coated bolts, spacers, and washers.
Ensure that the correct bolts, spacers, and washers are used for the correct application. Refer to SIS for the correct fasteners for each application.
