Inspect the 460-7333 Fan Spider As for reoccurrence of cracking. There is no disassembly required for this inspection. If a crack is found, replace with the same part number. Provide the inspection information below to the Global Dealer Solution Network (GDSN) Service Technical support entry. Create the entry, but do not submit to Caterpillar. Instead, include the email address bryan_guy@Cat.com in the cc field and close the ticket at the dealership. In either case of crack is found, or no crack found, create a GDSN Service Request with the inspection results and close at the dealership level.
Results of inspection (crack or no crack)
- Fan part number - found on concave side of blade facing the radiator. Note how the part number is applied - paper label or metal stamping.
- Fan operating hours
- Pictures of all cracks (if any found)
- Quantity of fan belts (2 or 3)
- Note any fan to shroud interference
- Note any bent or damaged blades
