Hydraulic Tank (Brake, Hoist, Steering) - Remove and Install

Usage:

794 AC HRT

Removal Procedure

------ WARNING! ------

The space between the body and the frame becomes a zero clearance area when the body is lowered. Failure to install the retaining cable can result in injury or death to personnel working in this area.

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury or death can occur from heavy components falling during removal or installation.

Properly support the component with a suitable lifting device during removal or installation.

------ WARNING! ------

At operating temperature, the hydraulic tank is hot and under pressure.

Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.

Remove the filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the filler cap slowly in order to relieve pressure.

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury or death can result from escaping fluid under pressure.

Escaping fluid under pressure, even a very small pin-hole size leak, can penetrate body tissue and cause serious injury and possible death. If fluid is injected into your skin, it must be treated immediately by a doctor familiar with this type of injury.

Always use a board or cardboard when checking for a leak.

NOTICE

Do not allow any dirt or foreign material to get into the hydraulic system during assembly, connection of lines, when components are filled with fluid, or during any maintenance operation.

  1. Prepare the machine for maintenance. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual , "Prepare the Machine for Maintenance".

  2. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cable (Truck Body Retaining)".

  3. Shutdown and de-energizing the machine. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Electrical Shutdown and Voltage Discharge".

  4. Drain the hydraulic tank. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic Tank Oil Level - Change - Hoist and Brake System" for the correct draining and filling procedure
