The display on the control panel shows an incorrect current value.

    ------ WARNING! ------

Accidental engine starting can cause injury or death to personnel working on the equipment.

To avoid accidental engine starting, disconnect the battery cable from the negative (−) battery terminal. Completely tape all metal surfaces of the disconnected battery cable end in order to prevent contact with other metal surfaces which could activate the engine electrical system.

Place a Do Not Operate tag at the Start/Stop switch location to inform personnel that the equipment is being worked on.

    ----------------------

    NOTICE

Ensure that all lockout and tag out procedures for the site are followed.

  1. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Safety Section" for further information.

  1. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position or disconnect the battery cable from the batteries.

  1. Remove the bolts from the top cover of the generator. Remove the top cover from the generator.

  1. Make temporary marks on the Alternating Current (AC) mains cable for installation purposes. Remove the terminal nuts from the mains AC cables terminals and remove the mains AC cables.

  1. Make a note of directional arrows (1) and the ratios of coils (2) .

  1. Make temporary marks on wiring harness assembly (3) and connections for each coil (2) for installation purposes. Refer to the relevant Electrical Schematic.

  1. Disconnect wiring harness assembly (3) from coils (2) .

  1. Install the improved design coils, ensure that the directional arrows on the coils are correctly orientated. Install wiring harness assembly to the connections on each coil.

  1. Install the mains AC cables. Ensure that the AC cables are installed into the correct position. Install the terminal nuts to the main AC cables terminals.

Tighten the M10 nuts for C4.4 Marine Generator Sets to a torque of 20 N·m (177 lb in)

Tighten the M12 nuts for C7.1 Marine Generator Sets to a torque of 35 N·m (310 lb in)

  1. Install the top cover to the generator. Install bolts to the top cover of the generator and tighten the bolts securely.

    NOTICE

Remove all lockout and tag out equipment in accordance to the site procedures.

  1. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position or connect the battery cable to the batteries.
