Note: Verify that all parts are shipped and undamaged for preparation of assembly. Missing or damaged parts can be ordered prior to assembly to avoid delays during assembly.
Personal injury or death can occur from heavy components falling during removal or installation. Properly support the component with a suitable lifting device during removal or installation. |
Observe the safe working load limits of all lifting and blocking devices and keep a safe distance from suspended/blocked loads. Personnel may be seriously injured or killed by falling loads. |
Do not attempt to rework, weld, heat, or braze any wheel component that is cracked, broken, or damaged. Replace such components with new OEM parts of the correct size and type. |
Never mix wheel parts of different designs or from a variety of sources. Incorrect wheel assemblies may result in serious injury or death of personnel. |

- Clean the mating surfaces free of wax, dirt, debris, paint, and grease. Select two wheel adapters with matching pair identifiers for one side of the machine.
- Install two wheel adapters (1) to the front axle using 50 washers (2) and 50 nuts (3). Tighten to
3100 ± 350 N·m (2286 ± 258 lb ft) .Note: Do not apply any lubricants to the faces of the washers and the threads of the bolts.
- Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for the other front wheel.

Note: 308-3083 Adapter As (A) weighs approximately
224 kg (494 lb) . - Repeat Step 4 for the right side of the rear axle.

Illustration 4 g03863958 - Use a suitable tire handler to install a tire and demountable rim group (4) on both sides of the front axle. Secure each tire and demountable rim group (4) using 54 bolts (5) and 54 hard washers (6). Tighten bolts (5) to
3100 ± 350 N·m (2286 ± 258 lb ft) . Refer to Testing and Adjusting, UENR2267, "Front Wheel - Align" to align the front wheels.Note: The approximate weight of the demountable rim group (4) (
2463 kg (5430 lb) ) does not include the weight of the selected tire. Add the weight of the selected tire for safe lifting and mounting.Show/hide tableIllustration 5 g06242690 A view of the right rear axle - Use a suitable tire handler to install a tire and demountable rim group (4) on the two inboard rear axle positions. Secure each tire and demountable rim group (4) using 54 nuts (3) and 54 hard washers (6). Tighten nuts (3) to
3100 ± 350 N·m (2286 ± 258 lb ft) .Note: The approximate weight of the demountable rim group (4) (
2463 kg (5430 lb) ) does not include the weight of the selected tire. Add the weight of the selected tire for safe lifting and mounting. - Install a tire valve group (7) to each demountable rim group (4) using six reducer bushings (8), six angles (9), two locknuts (10), six seals (11), and six diffusers (16).
- Install one guard (12) with four bolts (13) and four washers (14) on each side. Use four bolts (17) ,and four hard washers (18) to install one support (15) to each side of the rear axle. Route tire valve group (7) under guard (12) and into support (15) on each side.

Illustration 6 g03863921 - Clean the mating surfaces free of wax, dirt, debris, paint, and grease.
- Use a suitable lifting device to install two adapter assemblies (A), 48 bolts (B), and 48 washers (C) to the right side of the rear axle. The two adapter assemblies (A) must be assembled so that the inboard tire valve group (7) will pass through the cutout in the adapter assemblies (A). Further more, the gaps at the ends of the adapter assemblies (A) must be equal on each side to insure proper rim fit up. Use M12 bolts or similar fasteners installed through the holes in the special studs on the ends of the rim adapters. Pull the adapters in tight against the wheel flange outer diameter and equalize end gaps. Torque the bolts (B) to
3100 ± 350 N·m (2286 ± 258 lb ft) while insuring that adapter assemblies (A) are held tightly against the wheel flange diameter. Remove the clamp bolts through the special end studs before mounting a tire.Note: 308-3083 Adapter As (A) weighs approximately
224 kg (494 lb) . - Repeat Steps 10 and 11 for the left-hand side.

Illustration 7 g03864102 A view of the right rear axle - Use a suitable tire handler to install a tire and demountable rim group (4) on the two outboard rear axle positions. Secure the tire and demountable rim group (4) using 54 nuts (3) and 54 hard washers (6) on each side. Tighten nuts (3) to
3100 ± 350 N·m (2286 ± 258 lb ft) .Note: Orient the valve for the outboard tire 180 degrees from the valve and support (15) for the inboard tire.
Note: The approximate weight of the demountable rim group (4) (
2463 kg (5430 lb) ) does not include the weight of the selected tire. Add the weight of the selected tire for safe lifting and mounting.
