Expansion Tank - Remove and Install

Usage:

C8.7 CS7

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

  1. Loosen hose clamp (3) and remove hose (2) .

  1. Loosen tube assembly (1) .

  1. Remove bolt (4) .

  1. Loosen hose clamp (8) and remove hose (14) .

  1. Loosen coupling (9) and tube assembly (7) .

  1. Loosen tube assembly (12) .

  1. Disconnect harness assembly (13) .

  1. Remove bolt (10) and stud (11) .

  1. Remove bolts (6) and expansion tank (5) .

Installation Procedure

  1. Install expansion tank (5) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 80 ± 8 N·m (59 ± 6 lb ft).

    1. Tighten stud (11) and bolt (10) to a torque of 46 ± 5 N·m (34± 3 lb ft).

    1. Tighten tube assembly (12) to a torque of 38 ± 3 N·m (28± 2 lb ft).

    1. Tighten coupling (9) to a torque of 45 ± 5 N·m (33 ± 3 lb ft).

    1. Tighten tube assembly (7) and tube assembly (1) to a torque of 20 ± 2 N·m (177 ± 18 lb ft).

    1. Tighten hose clamp (8) and hose clamp (3) to a torque of 5.25 ± 0.25 N·m (46 ± 2 lb in).

    1. Tighten bolt (4) to a torque of 10 N·m (89 lb in).
