32  187-0450 Taperlock Stud  Use the following procedure to install the taperlock stud in the cylinder block:

1. Coat the lower half of each taperlock stud with 1.5 mm (0.06 inch) thick coating of 4C-4774 Water and Temperature Resistant Grease.
2. Install taperlock stud in the cylinder block.
3. Tighten the taperlock stud to 100 ± 20 N·m (74 ± 15 lb ft).
4. Coat the upper half of each taperlock stud with 1.5 mm (0.06 inch) thick coating of 4C-4774 Water and Temperature Resistant Grease. 
20  6V-3538 Dowel  Protrusion (C) of the dowel is 8.0 ± 0.5 mm (0.31 ± 0.02 inch)
16  6V-3539 Dowel  Before assembly, apply Chemtool Alpha 2000 Calcium Complex Grease.
Protrusion (D) of the dowel is 60.0 ± 1.0 mm (2.36 ± 0.04 inch)
7N-2328 Dowel  Protrusion (F) of the dowel is 20.0 ± 1.0 mm (0.79 ± 0.04 inch)
175-5060 Sleeve  Install the sleeve with the marked "TOP" toward up. 
3P-0656 O-Ring Seal  Before assembly, lubricate the bore lightly with clean engine oil.

124-1836 Bearing Cap As  The Bearing cap assembly must be installed with the part number toward the front of the block. The number of the main bearing cap must also match the cast number on the left side of each main bearing saddle. 
Width in the cylinder block for the bearing cap assembly is 500.00 ± 0.05 mm (19.685 ± 0.002 inch).
Width (M) of bearing cap assembly is 499.95 ± 0.03 mm (19.683 ± 0.001 inch).
Protrusion of 6V-3538 Dowel from the bearing cap assembly is 10.0 ± 0.5 mm (0.39 ± 0.02 inch).

18  3S-7079 Bolt  Use the following procedure in order to tighten the main bearing assembly:

1. Again, tighten taperlock stud (11) in the cylinder block to 100 ± 20 N·m (74 ± 15 lb ft).
2. Assemble bearing cap assembly (7), washer (9), and hand tighten the nut (10).
3. Assemble all side bolt (8) on the tab slot side of the cap and hand tighten bolt (8). Before assembly, lubricate washer face and the threads of the bolts with clean engine oil.
4. Starting at front face of the block, tighten the side bolt (8) on the tab slot side of the cap to 215 ± 40 N·m (159 ± 30 lb ft).
5. Starting at front face of the block, simultaneously tension each pair of taperlock stud (11) with either tensioner 207-5034 Stud Tensioner Tool Gp or tensioner 191-5320 Stud Tensioner Tool Gp. Apply 1415000 ± 50000 N (318106 ± 11240 lb) force for each stud. Hand tighten nut (10) and slowly release the pressure.
6. Repeat Step 5.
7. Repeat sequentially Step 5 through Step 6 for cap (2) through cap (9).
8. Assemble all side bolt (8) on the side opposite to the tab slot side of the cap and hand tighten bolt (8). Before assembly, lubricate washer face and threads of the bolts with clean engine oil.
9. Starting at front face of the block, tighten the side bolt (8) on the side opposite to the tab slot side of the cap to 215 ± 40 N·m (159 ± 30 lb ft).
10. Starting at front face of the block, tighten the side bolt (8) on tab slot side of the cap to 1825 ± 175 N·m (1346 ± 129 lb ft).
11. Starting at front face of the block, tighten the side bolt (8) on the side opposite to the tab slot side of the cap to 1825 ± 175 N·m (1346 ± 129 lb ft)
