NOTICE |
---|
Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- If necessary, follow Step 1.a through Step 1.c in order to remove cover (1).
- Remove caps (3) from nuts (4) (not shown).
- Remove nuts (4) (not shown) and washers (2) from cover (1).
- Remove cover (1).

NOTICE When disconnecting and connecting the plastic tube assemblies for the crankcase breather system, the plastic tube assemblies should not be twisted. Twisting of the plastic tube assemblies will result in the seals being damaged. Damaged to seals will result in leakage.
- Disconnect plastic tube assembly (7) from valve mechanism cover (6).
- Remove bolt (5) from valve mechanism cover (6).
- Remove valve mechanism cover (6) from the cylinder head.
Note: Remove the valve mechanism cover vertically to avoid damage to the electronic unit injectors.

Note: Install the valve mechanism cover vertically to avoid damage to the electronic unit injectors.
- Position valve mechanism cover (6) onto cylinder head (11). Ensure that harness assemblies (10) are not trapped during the assembly procedure.
- Install bolts (5). Tighten the bolts in the numerical sequence that is shown in Illustration 7. Tighten the bolts to a torque of
9 N·m (79 lb in) . Repeat Step 5 in order to ensure correct torque.Show/hide tableNOTICE When disconnecting and connecting the plastic tube assemblies for the crankcase breather system, the plastic tube assemblies should not be twisted.
