Introduction

The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

When power is cycled through the engine control switch, the advisor does not reset at the same rate as the engine Electronic Control Module (ECM). This difference in reset time causes the advisor not to communicate with the engine ECM.

Solution

When cycling power to the engine, make sure to leave the engine control switch in the OFF position long enough for the advisor to reset.
