- Disconnect harness assembly (6), if necessary.
- Disconnect tube assembly (2) from check valve (3).
- Remove tube (4) and the elbows, if necessary.
- Remove prelubrication oil pump (5) from the bracket on the engine oil pan.
- Remove the bolts and check valve (3) from prelubrication oil pump (5).

Spring force will be released when covers are removed.
Be prepared to hold spring loaded covers as the bolts are loosened.
- Remove the valve assembly from housing (12).
- Remove pin (11) from body (7). Remove the following components from body (7): pin (10), spring (9) and valve (8).
