New Flywheel Housing Assemblies and Gaskets Are Used on Certain 3500 Locomotives Engines {1157, 7555}

Description of Change: The new flywheel housing assembly along with the new gasket will provide a better seal to prevent oil leaks between the housing and block.

Adaptable To: The new flywheel housings and the former flywheel housings are listed in Tables 1 and 2. The new flywheel housing assembly and gasket are adaptable back to first production on the serial numbers listed above.

Refer to Special Instruction, REHS7873 for the modification procedure to use the new 309-4550 Gasket with the existing flywheel housing.
