Black Light Leak Detection Kit Available For Oil, Fuel and Cooling Systems

Usage:


A 1U5566 Black Light Kit is available to make it easier and quicker to detect leaks in oil, fuel and cooling systems. Additives, also available from Caterpillar, can be put in the suspect system and the leak point will show in the black light (ultraviolet light). Instructions come with the kit.

For replacement parts, a 1U5567 Black Light Filter and a 1U5568 Bulb are available.

Use of the spectacles (glasses) is recommended to prevent eye damage from the ultraviolet light

Three types of additives are needed, depending on which of the three systems is to be checked for leaks.

To detect oil leaks in engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, etc., use:

... 1U5572 Additive, Oil Glo 22; 24 one ounce bottles
... 1U5573 Additive, Oil Glo 22; 12 one pint bottles (5.7 liters total)

To detect fuel leaks or suspected fuel dilution, use:

... 1U5574 Additive, Gas Glo 32; 24 one ounce bottles
... 1U5575 Additive, Gas Glo 32; 12 one pint bottles (5.7 liters total)

To detect cooling system leaks use:

... 1U5576 Additive, Water Glo 23; 24 one ounce bottles
... 1U5577 Additive, Water Glo 23; 12 one pint bottles (5.7 liters total)
