Description of Change: The new "Y" shaped air inlet housing has an improved design for the joint that is bolted to the support bracket. The bolt holes in the housing have helical inserts that resist the forces that pull on the bolts.
The new three-piece bracket is more robust than the former bracket. The new bracket is more capable of withstanding the torsional stress that is generated by the turbocharger. The three-piece design enables adjustment during installation in order to help avoid tolerance stacks.
Adaptable To:
The new parts and the former parts, which are canceled, are identified in Table 2 and in Illustration 1.
The new parts are adaptable to the above engines back to first production.
The new parts are effective with the serial numbers that are listed in Table 1

Assemble the new bracket loosely until all of the joints are flush in order to ensure that the bracket is not installed in a bind.
