Traditionally, Caterpillar scrapped obsolete, slow-moving, and inactive service parts when the parts reached the end of service life. Through an agreement between Caterpillar and Vintage Parts, Inc., parts that are discontinued by Cat will be transferred to Vintage Parts, then be available for sale only to authorized Caterpillar dealers.
Parts will be priced at the last published Cat dealer net price. Over time Vintage Parts may adjust the price as Vintage Parts deem appropriate. Vintage Parts will bill Cat dealers directly for part orders plus shipping. All parts are genuine Caterpillar parts, never used or will-fit. Purchases through this program accrue no entitlements, implied warranty, or returns from Caterpillar.
When confronted with a cancelled/discontunued part, dealers should refer to Column 3 of the Numerical Parts Record (NPR), to see if the part may be available at Vintage Parts.
