Introduction
Use the following solution in order to reduce flow through the engine's cooling system. This can increase the life of the aftercooler.
Problem
The 286-7905 Aftercooler Core As can fail due to excessive water flow through the cooling system on certain C32 Marine Engines that operate in the following unusual conditions:
- High levels of sand or abrasive debris in sea water
- Operating the engine at high rpm for an extended period of time
Solution
A new auxiliary water pump is available for certain C32 Marine Engines. The new design of the auxiliary pump's impeller reduces the flow of sea water through the engine's cooling system, which can provide increased life for the aftercooler.

Ensure that the Special Instruction regarding replacement of the 286-7905 Aftercooler Core As has been completed before replacing the 264-7809 Auxiliary Sea Water Pump Gp with the 351-7455 Auxiliary Sea Water Pump Gp .
