水泵的进口压力和出口压力之间的压力升高是不同的。 压力升高是水泵状况的指示器。 使用端口 (1) 测量水泵出口压力。 使用端口 (2) 测量水泵进口压力。
压力升高等于出口压力减去进口压力。 以下情况下，压力升高必须保持最小值 50 kPa (7.5 psi)：
- 发动机正常运转温度
- 1800 rpm 发动机转速
- 发动机全负载
