Generator Fan - Remove and Install

Usage:

3000 Frame Generator Fan Removal and Installation

  1. Refer to the "Generator - Remove" section of this document in order to obtain access to the fan and the mounting bolts for the coupling.

  2. Remove the hub (10). Refer to the "Coupling - Remove" section of this publication for information about removing the hub (10).

  3. Install a suitable lifting device on the close coupling adapter (12).

  4. Make an alignment mark (17) from the close coupling adapter (12) to the front bearing bracket (13). Remove the close coupling adapter mounting bolts (14).

  5. Make an alignment mark (11) on the fan with respect to the main rotor.

  6. Remove the front bearing bracket. Refer to Systems Operation, Test and Adjust, Disassembly and Assembly, KENR8990, "Front Bracket - Remove and Install". Remove the fan mounting bolts (15). Remove the fan (16).

Fan Installation

  1. Assemble the fan onto the main rotor.

  2. Align the marks for the fan and for the coupling (or rotor shaft).

  3. Install fan mounting bolts (15).
