Drive Shaft - Remove and Install

Usage:

C9 X9X

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the coupling guard. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Coupling Guard - Remove and Install".

  2. Remove the drive shaft guard. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive Shaft Guard - Remove and Install".


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Support the end of drive shaft (2). The weight of drive shaft (2) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb). Remove bolts (1) and disconnect drive shaft (2).

  2. Support the end of drive shaft (2). The weight of drive shaft (2) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb). Remove bolts (3) and the nuts. Remove drive shaft (2).

  3. If necessary, remove the retaining rings and spider assemblies from drive shaft (2).

Installation Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. If necessary, install the spider assemblies and the retaining rings in drive shaft (2).

  2. Place drive shaft (2) in position. Support the end of drive shaft (2). The weight of drive shaft (2) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb). Install the nuts and bolts (3).

  3. Place drive shaft (2) in position. Support the end of drive shaft (2). The weight of drive shaft (2) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb). Install bolts (1).

End By:

  1. Install the drive shaft guard. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive Shaft Guard - Remove and Install".

  2. Install the coupling guard. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Coupling Guard - Remove and Install".
