Jacket Water Heater - Remove and Install

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- The engine can have the ability to auto start. Ensure that the power supply is isolated before any service or repairs is performed.
- Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct procedure.

- Remove bolts (1) and remove jacket water heater (2) from the engine block.
- Disconnect harness assembly (4) from jacket water heater (2).
- Remove O ring seal (5) from jacket water heater (2).

- Ensure that the face of the engine cylinder block are clean and free from damage. Ensure that the face of the jacket water heater are clean and free from damage. Ensure that the jacket water heater is free from wear or damage. If necessary, replace the jacket water heater.

Illustration 3 g01722813 Show/hide tableIllustration 4 g01722797 - Use Tooling (A) in order to lubricate a new O ring seal (5). Install the new O ring seal to jacket water heater (2).
- Position jacket water heater (2) into the engine cylinder block.
- Install bolt (1) and tighten the bolt to a torque of
22 N·m (16 lb ft) . - Connect harness assembly (4) to jacket water heater (2).
- Connect plug (3) to harness assembly.
- Fill the cooling system with coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct procedure.
