Note: This procedure is intended for removal of the bottom guards in a shop environment. The conditions underneath must be solid, flat, smooth, and unobstructed. Fully read this procedure and fully understand this procedure before proceeding with the work.
Note: Do not place any part of your body under the bottom guards unless the mounting hardware is installed. Make sure that the suitable lifting device is in the proper location and giving proper support to the bottom guard before the mounting hardware is loosened.
Note: The accumulation of debris inside the bottom guards may add significantly to the weight of the bottom guards. Use extreme caution when you are removing the bottom guards.
- Remove bolts (1) and open door assemblies (2). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Bottom Guard (Power) - Clean" for the correct procedure.

- Remove cotter pin (8).
- Remove pin (9).
- Retract bottom guard cylinders (6) and (10). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Bottom Guard (Power) - Clean" for the correct procedure.

- Install bottom guard (21), bottom guard (17), and bottom guard (14) in the reverse order of removal.
Note: Position the bottom guard cylinders out of the way during the installation of bottom guard (21) and bottom guard (17).
- Tighten nuts (20), nuts (16), and nuts (11) to a torque of
370 ± 50 N·m (273 ± 37 lb ft) .
