    (5) Brake release switch

  6. Depress brake release switch (5) to activate the brake release electric drive pump. Hold brake release switch (5) until brake accumulator oil pressure indicator (4) turns off.

Note: Step 6 will pressurize the pilot control system. Pilot pressure will open two valves, to engage suspension "Service Mode". Service Mode has all three accumulators open to the suspension system.DO NOT disengage the parking brake.

    (K) 3/8 inch - 24 (Suits 3/16 inch flare tube fitting)

  7. Turn the handle of 1S-8938 Chuck (F) in the counterclockwise direction, to prevent charging valve opening during installation.

Note: The oil charging kit may be used to connect and measure suspension system pressure from the oil charge port. 175-5507 Nitrogen Charging Kit may be used to connect and measure suspension system pressure from any nitrogen charge port.

  8. Connect pressure gauge (G) to either the oil charging valve (7), or a nitrogen charge port (6), using 1S-8938 Chuck (F) with appropriate kit or fittings. Remove applicable port protective cap prior to connection.

  9. Turn the handle of 1S-8938 Chuck (F) in the clockwise direction to open the attached charging valve.

    • Read and record suspension system pressure

    • Measure and record current temperature of nitrogen accumulator

Note: If connecting to oil charging valve (7), turn nut (J) two and a half turns in the counterclockwise direction to open. Tighten nut (J) in the clockwise direction to close after pressure reading is taken.

  10. Turn the handle of 1S-8938 Chuck (F) in the counter-clockwise direction to close the attached charging valve.

  11. Remove 1S-8938 Chuck (F).

  12. Move switch (3) to the lower position to disable the service mode. Refer Illustration 4.

  13. Compare gauge pressure and temperature measured at Step 9, to the "Final Oil Charge Pressure" of Table 2. If the measured pressure is non-compliant, proceed to Testing and Adjusting"Suspension System (Front) Purge and Charge".
