New Modification to the Injector Harness Bracket on Certain D10T Track-Type Tractors {1120, 1408}

Usage:

D11T GEB
Track-Type Tractor
D10T (S/N: RJG1-UP)
D11T (S/N: GEB1-UP; TPB1-UP)

Description Of Change: New modification process for the injector harness bracket.

Adaptable To: The 444-2472 Bracket As or 444-2473 Bracket Asidentified in SEBD9925and SEPD1725, may foul the new stamped valve covers. The foul may prevent proper sealing condition between valve cover and base, potentially creating a leak path for engine oil from valve train.

Rework Processed

Note: This step is only required when utilizing 444-2472 or 444-2473 Bracket, the former 222-6953 Valve Cover Bases and the new stamped steel valve covers. Disregard if using 442-5727 Valve Cover Base.

Note: Preferred method to correct this issue will be to remove the former design 222-6953 Valve Cover Bases and install the current design 442-5727 Valve Cover Base This action removes the need for 444-2472 or 444-2473 Brackets.

Note: Alternative Method is to modify the 444-2472 or 444-2473 Bracket to be Used with the 222-6953 Valve Mechanism Cover Base and New Stamped Steel Valve Cover

  3. Once the additional material has been removed from the modified bracket. The next step is to test fit the cover to ensure that proper clearance has been created allowing proper sealing of valve cover PIP seal.

  4. Install and torque the valve cover properly.

  5. Now remove the valve cover and inspect the mating surface to see if any contact marks are present as shown in Illustration 6. If contact marks are present, extra material of the button will need to be removed for clearance.
