NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.


Note: The turbocharger will be removed from right side of the engine only.

  1. Remove clamp assemblies (2) and bellows assembly (1).

  2. Remove clamp assemblies (4) and bellows assembly (3).

  3. Remove clamp assemblies (6) and hose (5).

  4. Remove the bolt and clip assembly (7). Remove tube assembly (8).

  5. Remove tube assembly (9).

  6. Disconnect tube assemblies (10) and (11).

  7. Remove clamp assemblies (12) and bellows assembly (13).

  8. Remove two bolts (14) and install Tooling (A). Attach a suitable lifting device on turbocharger (15). Remove remaining bolts (14). Remove turbocharger (15). The weight of turbocharger (15) is approximately 80 kg (176 lb).
