Transmission Hydraulic Control Valve - Assemble

Assembly Procedure

  1. Install O-ring seal (16) onto plug (15).

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.

    To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.


  2. Install plugs (15).

  3. Install relief spool assembly (10), spring (11), piston (12) into valve body (9).

  4. Install cover (13) and adjusting screw (14) to valve body (9). Tighten adjusting screw (14) to a torque of 18 ± 4 N·m (159 ± 35 lb in).

    Note: Set adjusting screw (14) to the same depth as prior to disassembly.

  5. Install O-ring seals (8) on valve cartridge assembly (7).

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.

    Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.

    Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.


  6. Install spring (5), spool assembly (6) and valve cartridge assembly (7). Tighten valve cartridge assembly (7) to a torque of 30 ± 5 N·m (266 ± 44 lb in).

  7. Install coil assembly (2), washer (3) and nut (4). Tighten nut (4) to a torque of 13 ± 1.5 N·m (115 ± 13 lb in).

  8. Install fitting (1). Tighten fitting (1) to a torque of 14 ± 4 N·m (124 ± 35 lb in).

  9. Repeat Steps 5 through 8 for the remaining modulating valves.

End By:

  1. Install the transmission hydraulic control valve.
