Transmission Oil Pump

Usage:

The pump is a one-section gear type pump.

Rotation is counterclockwise when the rotation is viewed from the drive end. For bench testing, use SAE 10 oil that is at 49°C (120°F).

Rotate the pump by hand. The pump must rotate freely.

Pump Output

Minimum output ... 108 L/min (29 US gpm)
Pump speed ... 1800 rpm
Pressure ... 2550 kPa (370 psi)

(1) Clearance between the gears and the covers ... 0.107 ± 0.026 mm (.0042 ± .0010 inch)

(2) Bearings and Shafts

Bore of the bearings ... 41.283 ± 0.008 mm (1.6253 ± .0003 inch)
Diameter of shafts ... 41.232 ± 0.005 mm (1.6233 ± .0002 inch)

(5) Torque for the four bolts ... 25 ± 5 N·m (220 ± 45 lb in)

Note: Install the bearings into the bores so that the bearings are 1.5 ± 0.5 mm (.06 ± .02 inch) below the surface. Install the bearings so that the bearing joints are 30 ± 15° from the centerlines of the shafts, as shown.

(6) Install the dowels to dimension B.

Dimension B ... 5.0 ± 0.5 mm (.20 ± .02 inch)
