Description of Change: An improved block for ride control function is now available. The improvement in the block will provide better retention of the new plugs that have higher pressure ratings than the standard plugs. The new plugs are required to seal high pressure spikes. The new plugs will prevent loosening which can lead to internal leakage and external leakage.
Adaptable To: The improved 253-4026 Ride Control Valve Gp is now available with new 282-8827 Plug and new 4J-7533 O-Ring Seal in order to replace the former 173-3993 Plug As. The new plugs have been released in order to prevent the plugs from loosening. The new plugs will prevent internal leaks and external leaks. The leaks can result in boom drift and potential loss of implement function.
Instructions for field repair
- Remove 4J-7533 O-Ring Seal. Do not reuse the old seals.
- Clean the plugs and mating threads with isopropyl alcohol.
- Assemble new 4J-7533 O-Ring Seals to the plugs.
- Apply Loctite 545 sealant to the threads of the plugs.
- Reinstall the plugs and torque to 5 ± 1 N·m (3.69 ± 0.74 lb ft).
