Oil Pressure Shutdown Specifications Change For Hydramechanical Shutoff System{1085}

Usage:

D379, D398, D399, 3508, 3512, 3516 Engines Equipped With A Hydramechanical Shutoff

The hydramechanical shutoff protects the engine from insufficient oil pressure at both low and high engine speeds. The minimum oil pressure specifications for engine shutdown have been changed for both low engine speed and high engine speed. The new minimum oil pressure specifications for engine shutdown are as follows:

... Low engine speed - 105 ± 35 kPa (15 ± 5 psi).

... High engine speed - 170 ± 35 kPa (25 ± 5 psi).

Make note of these changes in the Service Manuals for each of the above engines.
