NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device and Tooling (A) to cab (46) .

  1. Position cab (46). The weight of cab (46) is approximately 771 kg (1700 lb).

  1. Install bolts (47) .

  1. Install floorplate (45) .

  1. Install floor mat (44) and footrest (43) .

  1. Connect harness assemblies (42) .

  1. Connect cable assembly (41). Connect clamp (40). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 7.2 ± 1.6 N·m (64 ± 14 lb in).

  1. Install panel (39). Repeat for the other side.

  1. Install armrest (14) and plate (16). Install bolts (15). Repeat for the other side.

  1. Connect hose assembly (8). Connect clamps (9) and (10). Install bolts (7).

  1. Connect hose assembly (6A) and harness assembly (6) .

  1. Connect the hoses and install clamps (5). Torque for the clamps is 8 ± 3 N·m (72 ± 27 lb in).

  1. Position plates (4) and install bolts (3) .

  1. Position cover (2). Install bolts (1). Repeat for the other side.

  1. Install the cab filters. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cab Filter (Fresh Air) - Clean/Inspect/Replace".

  1. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Extended Life Coolant - Change".

  1. Charge the air conditioner system. Refer to Service Manual, SENR5664, "Air Conditioning and Heating Systems with R-134a Refrigerant" for the procedure. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Air Conditioning Tools" for the tools.

End By:

  1. Install the rollover protective structure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Rollover Protective Structure (ROPS) - Remove and Install".
  2. Install the seat. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Seat - Remove and Install".
  3. Install the hood. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hood - Remove and Install".
  4. Install the engine side guards. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Side Guards - Remove and Install".
