Configure the Machine Type

You can configure a new machine with the "Machine Settings" dialog.

1. In order to enter service mode, hold down the "OK" key while the display powers up.

2. From the "Setup Menu - Configuration" dialog, press the "Installation" soft key in order to list the items under the "Setup Menu - Installation" dialog.

3. Press the arrow keys until "Machine Settings" is highlighted. Press the "OK" key. A dialog that is similar to Illustration 1 appears.

4. Press the "Edit Machine" soft key and press the arrow keys until "Wheel Tractor-Scraper" is highlighted. Press the "OK" key. A dialog that is similar to Illustration 3 appears.

5. For a GPS system, use the arrow keys until the desired "Radio Type" is highlighted. Press the "OK" key.

   Select "TCXXXC/CRXXXC". Caterpillar systems normally use the CR900 radio or the CR450 radio.

6. Use the arrow keys in order to select "No".

7. Press the "OK" key.

8. Review the selections. Press the "OK" key in order to save the settings.

9. Press the "ESC" key in order to exit the "Setup Menu - Installation" dialog. The changes take effect immediately.
