Speed Override and Brake Control - Remove and Install

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the floorplate. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Floor Plates - Remove and Install".

  1. Remove cover (1).

  2. Disconnect harness assembly (2). Remove bolts (4) and plate assembly (3).

  3. Remove control unit (5).

  4. Hold down brake pedal (6) and remove retaining pin (7).

  5. Remove pin (9) and center shaft (8). Remove brake pedal (6).

  6. Remove bearings (10).

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.

    Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.

    Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.


  7. Remove nut (12) and the bolt. Remove springs (11).

Installation Procedure

    Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.

    To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.


  1. Install springs (11). Install the bolt and nut (12).

  2. Install bearings (10).

  3. Position brake pedal (6). Install center shaft (8) and pin (9).

  4. Position brake pedal (6) and install retaining pin (7).

  5. Install control unit (5).

  6. Position plate assembly (3) and install bolts (4). Connect harness assembly (2).

  7. Install cover (1).

End By:

  1. Install the floorplate. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Floor Plates - Remove and Install".
