Introduction
The problem that is identified below has a known permanent solution. Follow the solution that is identified below.
Problem

(3C) Inner spacer in bearing assembly (3) (4) 114-9114 Idler Shaft (5) Lubrication hole in idler shaft (4) (6) Lubrication hole in spacer (3C) |
The spacer (3C) that is used in the 174-1527 Bearing As (3) must be installed so that the holes (6) in the spacer (3C) are aligned with the holes (5) in the 114-9114 Idler Shaft (4). Failure to align the holes may reduce lubrication to the bearing. Reducing the lubrication will cause a premature failure.
There has also been reports of incorrect assembly of the 8E-5920 Lock Set (2). The 8E-5920 Lock Set (2) must be installed correctly in order to provide proper end play for the bearing assembly.
Solution

Outer spacer (3B) has been removed for clarity. Install the spacer (3C) so that the holes (6) are aligned with the holes (5) in the idler shaft in order to provide full lubrication.
The outer ring (2B) must be installed against the cone (3A). The inner ring (2A) must be installed against the 8E-5055 Idler Shaft Cover (1). Refer to Illustration 3 and Illustration 4.
