Description of Change: A new more rugged Check Valve is being added in order to provide improved performance and reliability. The new Valve Group will help prevent breaking, loosening, and leaking of the Check Valve from the Main Valve Body and the Check Valve Body. This leaking and loosening may result in lowering or drifting of the lift arm when the machine is in operation.

Adaptable To: The 194-1723 Check Valve Gp and 288-8932 Check Valve Gp will be replaced by the 318-8833 Check Valve Gp for improved performance and reliability. The new Check Valve is adaptable to the following machines.

Note: Because of the difficult nature in accessing the Ride Control Check Valve, Caterpillar recommends upgrading to the 318-8833 Check Valve Gp. If the Dealer has any unrelated reason to disassemble the Main Implement Control Valve, then the upgrade should be made.
