Improvements have been made to the body assembly of the power train oil pump on the D8T. A 3 mm (0.118 inch) drain hole (1) has been added to the pump body in order to reduce pressure from behind the seal. This will extend the service life of the lip seal for the pump and the drive shaft flange.
Adaptable To: The newly designed pump body is effective with machines D8T (S/N: J8B1323-1324,1330-1338,1344-UP; KPZ2508-UP). The newly designed pump body is adaptable to machines D8T (S/N: J8B1-1322,1325-1329,1339-1343; KPZ1-2507).
Note: The old pump body can be reworked in order to add the 3 mm (0.118 inch) drain hole. Refer to Special Instruction, REHS4340, "Improvements To The Power Train Oil Pump" for the procedure for reworking the pump body.
