卡特彼勒发电机可以在高湿度条件下运行而不产生问题。 但是当发电机怠速，而周围空气温度比发电机温度高时则可能产生问题。 绕组中能形成水气，使绕组性能降低。 水气还能造成绕组损坏。 只要发电机不运行就应确保空间加热器运转。

- 停下发电机组。
- 拆下面板以显露出调压器和控制器端子板。 找到端子板 "TS1"。
- 对于 240 V 系统，用万用表测量端子 "H1" 和 "H4" 之间的电压。 如果不存在电压，则将端子"H1"和"H4"的电源断开，检查端子之间是否具有3~12欧姆的电阻。 如果没有测到上述电阻，查看发电机维修手册中的资料。 对于 120 V 系统，用万用表测量端子 "H1" 和 "H2" 之间的电压。 如果电压不存在，则断开端子"H1"和"H2"，以及端子"H3"和"H4"的电源，检查是否存在3~12欧姆的电阻。 如果没有电阻，查看发电机维修手册中的资料。
