Usage:
All Caterpillar Equipment Using The 2P2541 Lamp Group Body
Description of Change: Illumination of nighttime work areas from earthmoving equipment is often difficult. Vehicle alternators and wiring are sometimes overloaded by the field installation of lighting in addition to the attachment lighting groups, this can result in system damage. Dark colored objects in the work area, such as coal, compound the problem.
Adaptable To: Halogen sealed beam headlamps (9W1280) and floodlamps (9W1281) are now available. These lamps are direct replacements for conventional sealed beams 1M5928 and 1M5898 respectively. The new lamps have the same life rating as the mentioned conventional lamps and are rated for 60 watts at 28 volts.
Halogen lights are more efficient than conventional lighting. As a result, more useful candlepower can be installed on a given machine without overloading the alternator or wiring. Halogen headlamps emit a whiter light than conventional headlamps making it more useful in coal fields.
