( 1 ) Cut the bolt to a length of 28 cm (11.0 inch).

  1. Position the machine on suitable blocking, as shown.

  1. Install suitable blocking in front of both track assemblies, as shown.

  1. Separate the track. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track - Seperate".

  1. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable strap in order to retain track assembly (1) .

  1. Install Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to the track in order to separate the track from the sprocket.

  1. Use Tooling (A) and Tooling (B) to reposition the track assembly out of the way.

    Note: Note the orientation of spacers (3) for installation purposes. The beveled edges of spacers (3) must be installed toward the weld. Refer to Illustration 6.

  1. Remove plates (2). Remove bolts (4). Remove spacers (3). Remove guard assembly (5) .

  1. Remove the track drive motor. Refer to disassembly and Assembly, "Track Drive Motor - Remove".

  1. Remove bolts (6) .

  1. Disconnect hose assembly (7) .

  1. Remove bolt (9) from one side of final drive assembly (8) .

  1. Remove bolt (10) from the other side of final drive assembly (8) .

  1. Install Tooling (C) .

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to final drive assembly (8), as shown. The weight of final drive assembly (8) is approximately 556 kg (1225 lb).

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Personal injury or death can result from lifting a heavy component.

    The heavy component can fall if using an incorrect hoist and/or sling or fastener to lift the load.

    Be sure the hoist and other devices have the correct lifting capacity to lift a heavy component. The approximate weight of the heavy component is given below.

    ----------------------

    Note: Do not allow final drive assembly (8) to slide off the end of Tooling (C). An additional suitable lifting device must be attached to the other side of the final drive assembly for balance.

  1. Remove remaining bolts (11) .

  1. Use the suitable lifting device and Tooling (C) to carefully move final drive assembly (8) away from the machine frame. Do not allow final drive assembly (8) to slide off the end of Tooling (C) .

  1. Attach Tooling (D) and an additional suitable lifting device to the other side of the sprocket in order to balance final drive assembly (8) .

  1. Carefully remove final drive assembly (8) .
