  1. Drill two 13.5 + 0.15 - 0.00 mm (0.531 + 0.006 - 0.000 inch) holes.

Note: Use bracket (12) as a template in order to locate the holes, after measuring the first hole location.

    1. The first hole should be 250 mm (9.8 inch) (A) above the weld transition of the b-post and 25 mm (1.0 inch) (B) to the left of the inside edge of the b-post.

    1. The second hole should be 80 mm (3.1 inch) (C) above the first hole.

Note: Make sure that the two holes are aligned.

  1. Use bracket (12) as a template in order to mark the two remaining holes. Then, drill two holes 13.5 + 0.15 - 0.00 mm (0.531 + 0.006 - 0.000 inch).

  1. Install insert (16). For the preferred method, proceed to Step 4. For the alternative method, proceed to Step 10.

  1. Use installer (17) in order to install insert (16) .

  1. Fully thread insert (16) onto installer (17) .

  1. Fully seat insert (16) into one of the four holes.

  1. Use a wrench in order to secure the nut on installer (17) while you tighten the bolt to 31 N·m (23 lb ft).

  1. Repeat Steps 5 through 7 for the remaining three inserts (16) .

  1. Proceed to Step 16.

  1. Grind the threads out of an M10 nut or drill the threads out of an M10 nut so that the nut will slide over an M10 bolt. Use a chisel to put small indentations on one side of the M10 nut.

  1. Place a washer, the M10 nut, and insert (16) onto a M10 bolt.

  1. Fully seat insert (16) with the attached bolt, the attached nut, and the washer, into one of the four holes.

  1. Use a wrench to secure the nut while you tighten the bolt to 31 N·m (23 lb ft).

  1. Repeat Steps 11 through 13 for the remaining three inserts (16) .

  1. Proceed to Step 16.
