Wiring of the Engine for the Air Pressure Sensor{1439, 1901, 7620}

Introduction

The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

The check engine light turns on for an active "276-03" diagnostic after the following events occur:

  • Software update

  • Engine ECM replacement

The pin location in the ECM connector for the signal wire on the inlet air pressure sensor may be in two different locations. The pin location may be located at either "J1 Pin15" or "J1 Pin17". The location is determined by the following conditions:

  • The suffix code for the ECM

  • The software part number

Note: The suffix code for the ECM is the last two characters of the serial number for the ECM.

Solution

  1. Refer to Table 1 for the ECM pin locations for each combination of suffix code and software part numbers.

  1. Inspect the harness. Verify the ECM input that is used.

  1. Move the signal wire for the sensor to the correct ECM input.
